Tidewell Software

Accessibility statement

This statement applies to tidewellsoftware.com, the Tidewell Software website. It is a voluntary statement based on the W3C model.

Our commitment

We want everyone to be able to use this website. It aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

Conformance status

We believe the site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA: most content conforms, with the known limitations listed below.

What we did

  • Semantic HTML with landmarks, a skip link, one level-one heading per page and ordered headings.
  • Text and interactive elements meet AA colour contrast in both light and dark themes; the theme follows your system setting.
  • Visible focus indicators; every control works with a keyboard; no content relies on hover.
  • Data tables have captions and header cells; wide tables scroll inside a focusable region.
  • Tool status messages are announced to screen readers through live regions.
  • Respects reduced-motion and Windows high-contrast (forced colours) settings. No autoplaying media.

Known limitations

  • Mermaid editor previews are drawn as SVG images. Screen readers announce the preview as an image; the Mermaid source text is the text alternative.
  • PDF to Markdown output reflects the PDF's own structure; heading detection is a heuristic and may mislabel headings.
  • The three free tools need JavaScript.

How we tested

Automated checks with axe-core (WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 A and AA rules) on each page template, plus manual keyboard checks, on 8 November 2026.
