Markdown and Mermaid apps for Confluence, compared
Short answer: Confluence Cloud has no native Markdown or Mermaid macro, so you need an app. The most installed are Just Add+ (Modus Create, 7,921 installs, 4.3★, Markdown + diagrams + code from Git), Mermaid diagrams viewer (Atlassian Labs, free, 7,782 installs, 3.0★) and Mermaid Diagrams for Confluence (Stratus, 6,163 installs, 4.0★). weweave's Mermaid Charts & Diagrams is the best rated Mermaid-only app (4.6★). Does Confluence Cloud support Markdown?
The editor accepts some Markdown shortcuts as you type, but it has no built-in macro that keeps a Markdown source and renders it. Apps add one.
Does Confluence Cloud support Mermaid diagrams?
Not natively. Several Marketplace apps render Mermaid, including free ones from Atlassian Labs and Mermaid Chart.
